Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato returned to Kathmandu from New Delhi on Sunday afternoon. Upon his arrival, Mahato said Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had called him up and urged him to come back with an assurance to fulfil the demands of agitating Madhesi parties. Mahato had plans to visit the Tarai instead of coming to Kathmandu from Delhi, where he underwent treatment for injuries he sustained during a recent clash with police in course of a UDMF protest at Biratnagar. So, what made him visit Kathmandu? Mahato told journalists at the Tribhuvan International Airport that he decided to come to Kathmandu after Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli invited him, assuring him that the Madhesh crisis will end soon. “I had made up mind to go straight to the Madhesh. But then the prime minister called me up and invited me to come to Kathmandu, assuring that the problem will end. I have come, with a sense of optimism.”
