Nepal movie industry have not a very long history, however the industry has its own space in the cultural heritage of the country.

It is often regarded to as 'Nepali Chalchitra'. The term Kollywood is also used. Due to its large cultural diversity, geography, location and natural beauty, Nepal has been able to present itself as one of the stunning shooting location for filmmakers from the past couple of years.

Nowadays, young generation Film Makers back- geared to make quality and sensitive movie with entertainment rather than Bollywood inspired socio-actions.

There are numerous movies since 2006 which are the best examples of high quality film in terms of presentation, performance,action, story,theme and technical.
However, they were not able to connecting with audiences.

After the releasing of blockbuster movie 'Loot' in January 2012, It has been seen that Nepali Film industry is growing smoothly and making really an amazing movies which gives entertainment. Thus, Nepali Film industry has been a key tool to give an education and awareness towards audiences about the various issues and aspects of society.
