The pressures of modern life mean that most of us have probably dreamt at one time or another of fleeing to the hills. But real-life caveman Angelo Mastropietro has made his hermit dream a reality – by spending over £160,000 turning a 250 million year old cave in the Wyre Forest into his dream home. The ambitious makeover captured the imagination of viewers when it was featured on Channel 4’s Grand Designs in September. He was even temporarily paralyzed in those conditions. This all incident made him to rethink his high-flying career and the stress and unhealthy lifestyle that came along with ‘man cave’ . He spent eight months enlarging an existing cave house in Wyre Forest, Worcestershire, removing 70 tonnes of stone and complete with running water, underfloor heating and even wi-fi. The father of two first came across the cave in 1999, when he and some friends took shelter from the rain there while on a bike ride.
